What is photography?

“The art or practice of taking and processing photographs.”
(Reference: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com Online)

•  Drawing with light
•  Capturing the moment and image
•  Colour or shades of colours including black and white
•  Stills, Action and Movement
•  Seeing the world through the lense

•  Time standing still in the frame once the shutter has closed and recorded the image

What does it mean to me?

A little about my background: my first camera was at the age of 8, a little black box camera (film).  Photography has always being a part of my life. I really enjoy capturing images, whether it be landscapes, people, buildings, water, nature etc, etc.  When digital photography arrived it made taking photos so much more fun.

I have the opportunity to follow my passion, up skilling and expanding my knowledge in photography, as I have being in the Graphic industry for many years.

One of the best investments I ever made was upgrading to professional equipment.  This has put me on a different level with my photography.  My goal is to keep learning and to get a better understanding of my Camera, Composition and Technique. My aim is to produce outstanding, amazing and breathtaking photos.

A quote by Ansel Adams –

“The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it.” – Ansel Adams
