Week 7: Camera Use Performing Arts Year 2

Performing Arts Year 2 Head Shots

Phone Camera used to capture layout of the set-up. Portrait head shots of the performing arts students year 2. Lighting Key light, Lighting Boom, 2 x soft boxes. Light metering.
After testing the lighting, one soft box used at back for fill light and the lighting boom.




Test sheet 18 percent grey corrects the white balance.

Getting the color just right in your photography can be difficult at best. There are incandescent lights, fluorescent lights, less than favorable lights...you get the drift. So how can you make sure that your images look as close to the real thing as it can (assuming you want it to look like the real thing). You do that by using an 18% gray card.[1] With digital cameras, you will be adjusting the white balance.

Pre rehearsal Photography:

Setup two Key lights either side of the theatre. Black walls all other lights turn off, all items removed other than the group and props.
