Fantastic evening photographing the different venues around the city. Big thanks to Robert Sullivan. The students where amazing and were very inspiring in expressing what they had seen and heard. A fun and most enjoyable evening.

The evening beings, what a buzz of excitement.

Black Note

This venue highlighted the photographic evening for me. We have contrasts, Black and White with shades of grey filling the venue with sound and image. Mainly Maori, the musicians were exceptional. As I walked in I felt a bit out of place but soon was welcomed by their warm hearts and smiles.

White Night Words

The final preparation for the evening before the Creative Arts students present their work. All enjoyed and had a lot of laughs through the presentations.

When taking this image two guys walk passed and posed, they definitely put some excitement into the compositions and totally changed the dynamics of the photo. They are slightly out of focus but this does not distract. They both on the rule of thirds and negative space in the background, leading lines each side. Very different shooting at night, I learnt a lot about exposure and shutter speed.
