Texture Positive / Negative Space Manual Mode
Texture in the above photos helps with the details in the photographs.
Pic 1: The poster of Jim Morrison shows age.
The discolouring of the paper and creases give the poster character.
Pic 2: Diverse shapes and paper textures. The colours and inks that are used to create the shapes of the stickers give a stark contrast to the wall and its texture.
Pic 3: Old chair. Fabric discoloured. The black board is smooth surface.
Pic 4: Changing the photo to Black and white adds character and highlights the worn, damaged areas. The tones and texture become more noticeable.
Pic 5: Kathe Kollwitz (1867-1945) Germany A bereaved mother. The richly printed impression sets the grieving pair against the black background texture with a sepia effect. It almost has a wood carving effect.
Pic 6-7: Faces on the boards are very effective. Flat surface no shine. The wood texture around the face allows the face to be highlighted. The detail in the eyes capture ones attention.
Framed with a low angle and narrow DOF.
Positive space in the foreground creates a well balance image.

Using the rule of thirds I placed the coffee mug right. Negative space in the background completes and image leading ones eye to the selling point.
Cropping the image and converting to black and white changes the mood.
